Police in Wickenburg arrested two people after uncovering an alleged chop shop containing stolen vehicles, vehicle parts and a car buried underground, while a separate pursuit in Tombstone ended in a rollover crash and multiple arrests.
Wickenburg Police served a search warrant early on Saturday near 355th Avenue and Painted Wagon Trail as part of an investigation into suspected vehicle thefts.
Officers found several stolen vehicles and parts on the property, including one car concealed beneath the ground. An elderly couple was arrested and is expected to be booked into Maricopa County Jail on multiple charges, police said.
The identities of those arrested have not been released. The investigation remains ongoing, according to authorities.
In a separate incident in Tombstone, officers pursued a vehicle before the chase ended in a rollover crash. Several people were arrested, although further details about the suspects and any injuries were not immediately disclosed.
