Arsenal are pushing to agree a new contract with Martin Ødegaard, with the club viewing their captain as “non-transferable” despite reported interest from Saudi Arabia and leading European clubs.
Transfer journalist Nicolò Schira reports that the Norway international is moving closer to extending his stay at the Emirates, where he remains central to Mikel Arteta’s midfield.
Arsenal are understood to have rejected approaches for Ødegaard in recent months rather than consider a sale. The stance underlines the importance placed on retaining the core of Arteta’s team.

Reports suggest negotiations between Arsenal and Ødegaard’s representatives are progressing positively, with the 27-year-old prepared to continue his commitment to the club’s project.
The latest development follows a period of uncertainty earlier in the summer, when it was suggested that Arsenal could consider major offers for their captain. Galatasaray were also linked with a move, although claims that a transfer to Turkey was imminent were later described as “completely false”.
Ødegaard’s future is being addressed shortly after Arteta agreed a new deal following Arsenal’s Premier League title success last season. The manager’s continued presence is seen as part of the club’s wider long-term planning.
