ASOS appears to have been hacked after customers received an alert on the retailer’s app threatening to leak their data.
The message, sent on 6 October, was headed “ASOS hacked” and addressed the company’s data protection officer and IT team. It claimed: “we have full compromised the Snowflake instance. Engage with us, or we will leak it.”
The alert did not appear to prevent the ASOS website or app from working. The online fashion retailer says it has 17 million customers across 150 countries.
ASOS has been contacted for comment.
