A Los Angeles helicopter crash killed at least one person on Tuesday evening, with flames and a column of thick black smoke visible over the area.
The helicopter came down near Prairie Street and Lurline Avenue, where it caught fire and ignited several vehicles, according to reports from the scene.
The crash occurred close to the site of a separate fatal bus crash, in which at least two people were killed. Several news helicopters had been covering that incident in the area.
Los Angeles officials have not said what caused the helicopter to plunge to the ground. The number of any further injuries remains unknown.
