Aurum Resources has reported further high-grade gold results from drilling at its BST1 deposit in Côte d’Ivoire, including a 0.65-metre intercept grading 41.38 grams per tonne outside the existing 570,000-ounce resource.
The deposit forms part of the company’s 3.22-million-ounce Boundiali gold project in West Africa. Aurum is preparing a revised resource estimate for release by the end of October, with the results expected to help shape a definitive feasibility study planned for late 2026.
The latest findings came from 25 diamond holes covering 7,121.75 metres. The drilling is part of a wider 150,000-metre programme across Aurum’s Boundiali and Napié projects, using 16 company-owned rigs to test extensions and improve confidence in existing resources.
The highest-grade result was contained within a wider 9.55-metre section averaging 5.18 grams per tonne from a depth of 75.45 metres. Other notable intercepts included one metre at 43.93 grams per tonne from 268 metres, 1.26 metres at 23.10 grams per tonne from 25 metres and five metres at 5.26 grams per tonne from 283 metres.
Two further holes returned 13 metres at 2.08 grams per tonne from 258 metres and 20 metres at 1.25 grams per tonne from 145 metres, including a six-metre section grading 2.29 grams per tonne.
Aurum said the drilling indicated that the BST1 gold system remained open along strike and at depth. The latest results, along with additional assays, will be considered in the updated mineral resource estimate, based on drilling completed by the 30 September cut-off.
“We have received assays for a further 25 diamond holes totalling 7,122m at BST1, all drilled before the 30 September 2026 cut-off date for our next Boundiali Mineral Resource Estimate,” said Aurum managing director Dr Caigen Wang.
“These holes form part of the 120 holes for more than 31,000m (based on drill logs) completed at BST1 since the last Mineral Resource update, drilled to extend known mineralisation and to increase confidence in Inferred Mineral Resources.”
Boundiali drilling feeds upcoming resource update
Dr Wang added: “Boundiali continues to grow in scale, and today’s results are expected to add to that.”
Aurum reported an unaudited cash balance of more than 95 million dollars following a recent 52.5 million dollar placement, supporting its exploration and development programme in West Africa.
The company’s combined gold resource base stands at 4.38 million ounces, including the 1.16-million-ounce Napié project, about 100 kilometres south-east of Boundiali. Aurum plans to begin a 30,000-metre drilling programme at Napié this quarter.
Both projects are located within the Birimian Greenstone Belt, which stretches across five West African countries. Aurum’s tenements are near major gold operations including Perseus Mining’s Sissingué mine, Resolute Mining’s Syama mine and Barrick Gold’s Tongon mine.
