Brad Pitt was met by crowds of fans as he arrived at the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain on Sunday, where he is promoting his new survival thriller, Heart of the Beast.
The 62-year-old actor was seen making his way to the Maria Cristina Hotel after landing in the city, with people lining the streets to catch a glimpse of him.
Pitt opted for a blue suede jacket, dark sunglasses, a denim cap and light grey trousers for the appearance.
His arrival came shortly after comments from a source close to the actor about the impact of his former marriage to Angelina Jolie on his life.
“He never had a drink problem, he had an Angelina problem,” the source said. “He’s worked hard on himself and he’s now, finally, in a really good place.”
Pitt and Jolie split in September 2016 after two years of marriage. The pair share six children, all of whom are now adults.
Four of their children – Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne – have taken legal steps to change their surnames from Pitt to Jolie. Knox and Pax have not filed formal legal petitions to change their names.
Pitt has increasingly appeared in public with his partner, Ines de Ramon, while Jolie has spoken about plans to spend more time outside the United States.
In an interview published on September 9, Jolie said she wanted to be “a bit nomadic” now that twins Vivienne and Knox had turned 18.
“Out of the States more, I think,” she said. “I don’t really plan to have a base. I’d like to have a home base for my family, a place where some of the mom stuff and the family photos are. And then I’d like to be a bit nomadic for a while.”
Jolie also said she hoped to expand her Atelier Jolie creative house internationally, with Brazil potentially becoming its first location outside the US, and planned to return to Cambodia to undertake more hands-on work with the Maddox Foundation.
