Brandi Glanville says her ongoing health battle has left her largely isolated, with the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star rarely seeing anyone beyond her children.
Glanville said she withdrew from friends over the past few years, including people who tried to keep in touch. She stopped answering calls and messages because she had no fresh explanation for what was happening to her.
She said some friends believed she was depressed because they did not accept that a physical health problem was behind her withdrawal.
These days, Glanville said her children are the people she sees most often when they visit her. Otherwise, she remains at home “all day, every day”.
Her treatment routine has also limited the time she can spend outside the house. Glanville said she spends much of the day undergoing IV treatments and generally has only about two hours available for other tasks, which are often taken up by trips to the pharmacy for further prescriptions.
She said she has developed anxiety about leaving home and prefers staying with her dogs, joking that they love her regardless of how she looks.
Glanville is also facing mounting medical bills linked to her treatment. A close friend recently set up a GoFundMe campaign to help with the costs, an appeal Glanville said she felt embarrassed to need.
She said asking people for money was the last thing she had wanted to do.
Glanville has also discussed agreeing to take part in “Special Forces” while dealing with her health problems. She said she did not want to appear on the programme but needed the payment, while doctors were telling her at the time that she was fine.
She described her outlook then as dark, saying she reasoned that if she was going to die, she might as well earn some money first.
