Brooklyn Beckham spent Saturday evening at home in Los Angeles with his wife Nicola Peltz, while his parents and siblings gathered in Berkshire to support his younger brother Cruz at Reading Festival.
Cruz, 21, performed with his band The Breakers on the festival’s Canopy stage on August 29, marking the group’s appearance at the event. David and Victoria Beckham were seen watching from the side of the stage as their son played a half-hour set.
The performance came shortly after Cruz released his debut EP, Wear & Tear, on August 21. The six-track record was made with The Breakers and was announced alongside festival appearances including Reading and Leeds.
Brooklyn, 27, was not seen with the rest of the family and instead remained at the couple’s Los Angeles home. His absence is the latest public indication of the continuing distance between the eldest Beckham son and his parents and siblings.
In January, Brooklyn publicly addressed the rift, saying he did not want to reconcile with his family. He accused David and Victoria of attempting to damage his marriage and claimed that family relationships had been overshadowed by publicity and commercial interests. The Beckhams have not publicly responded in detail to the allegations.
Brooklyn and Nicola married in Florida in April 2022. The couple have since remained closely associated with the Peltz family, while Brooklyn’s relationship with his own family has become increasingly strained.
Cruz’s Reading appearance is part of a growing music career. His record company has described Wear & Tear as a project created with live performances in mind, with the singer-songwriter also scheduled for further shows in the US and Europe.
