A Carlton player has been hospitalised after reportedly suffering complications linked to the alleged use of recreational drugs.
Paramedics attended a house in South Yarra on Saturday, where a man in his 20s was treated before being taken to hospital in a stable condition. He was reported to have suffered upper-body injuries.
Another Carlton player is understood to have visited the hospital on Saturday night to support his team-mate.
A further Carlton player attended hospital on Sunday, although reports said that visit was unrelated to the earlier incident.
An earlier report said at least three Carlton players had been hospitalised.
