A boy was killed in a late-night shooting at a home in south-east Atlanta, police said.
Officers were called to the 900 block of Dunning Street SE at about 11.21pm on Friday, 25 September, after reports of gunfire.
They found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Atlanta Police Department’s homicide and gangs units attended the property to examine the scene and establish what led to the fatal shooting.
Police have not released the victim’s name or exact age. Investigators have also not said whether anyone has been identified as a suspect or taken into custody.
The circumstances surrounding the boy’s death remain under investigation.
