A new episode of the “2 Angry Men” podcast has examined text messages between Jane Doe and men she accuses of sexual assault following a Cornell University fraternity party.
The discussion focuses on an account that allegedly changed over several weeks, from describing the encounter as consensual to characterising it as rape. The podcast considers whether the shift could reflect repressed memory or damage control.
Mark Geragos offers a strong view on the issue, while Harvey Geragos also examines the possible interpretations of the messages.
Jane Doe’s lawyer, Thomas Giuffra, said Jonathan Newell was expelled for “violating Ms. Doe’s bodily safety in commencing intercourse without her [affirmative] consent”. He added: “this is the definition of rape.”
The latest episode challenges that characterisation and explores the legal and factual issues raised by the correspondence.
