Joao Pedro has urged Chelsea to adapt quickly after they dropped more points in a draw with Hull, warning that they must improve if they are to compete in the Premier League.
The forward scored after Chelsea took the lead on Saturday, but another defensive lapse allowed Hull to recover a result from a match the London side had been expected to win.
Chelsea have changed manager and added a number of new players, yet their vulnerability at the back and under pressure remains a concern despite their attacking threat.

“We have to adapt quickly, as soon as possible, because we know how the Premier League is. If you drop points, in the end it will be difficult to recover,” Joao Pedro said in comments published by Chelsea.
“We need to adapt quickly because if you want to compete, you have to improve on that.”
The 23-year-old said Chelsea had anticipated Hull’s approach after going behind, with the home side expected to defend deep and look for opportunities on the counter-attack.
“We knew if they got in front they were going to sit at the back and wait for us to come and play for the counter-attack. It was a tough game,” he said.
Although Chelsea could only take one point, Joao Pedro remained confident that progress would follow.
“In the end, we could get one point, but like I said, we need to improve and I think we’re going to improve soon.”
The forward has made an impressive start to the season, having won the Premier League’s August player of the month award before scoring again in September’s opening fixture.
