Police in Prince George’s County, Maryland, are searching for the driver and possible passengers of a stolen silver Hyundai after an officer fired a weapon during a traffic stop in Bladensburg.
The incident happened at about 3.55am on Sunday, September 20, near the junction of Annapolis Road and Edmonston Road, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.
Officers had attempted to stop the vehicle earlier, but police said the driver continued away. A second encounter followed, during which one officer discharged their duty weapon.
Police search for stolen car driver
There is currently no evidence that anyone inside the Hyundai was struck by gunfire, police said. Anyone who may have been injured has been urged to seek medical attention immediately.
No officers were hurt. Investigators believe there may have been other people inside the vehicle alongside the driver.
