A married couple have been arrested on suspicion of murdering their 40-year-old son-in-law in a shooting near a sports ground in Dublin, California, police said.
Jonathan McKinsey was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a car park near the Dublin Sports Grounds on Dublin Boulevard at about 3.08pm on Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dublin Police Services said officers detained two suspects who had remained nearby within minutes of the shooting, with witnesses helping police locate them.
The suspects were identified as Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen, both 77 and from Dublin. Police said the couple were married and were Mr McKinsey’s parents-in-law.
Both were arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into Santa Rita Jail. The investigation remains active as detectives examine the circumstances surrounding the killing.
Police said there were no outstanding suspects and no known threat to public safety. Anyone with information has been asked to contact Dublin Police Services.
