Ed Sheeran has added new opening acts to the remaining US dates on his Loop Tour, with former The Fray frontman Isaac Slade set to perform at several shows and American Idol contestant Brooks Rosser joining him for one date.
The changes follow the departure of the tour’s supporting artists after Macklemore was dropped from the line-up over pro-Palestine statements made on stage during two concerts in New Jersey. Sheeran subsequently performed in Philadelphia without an opening act before Slade joined him in Atlanta last weekend.
Isaac Slade added to remaining US shows
Slade will now appear at the remaining non-casino US shows, including Indianapolis on October 10, Charlotte on October 17, Arlington on October 24 and Tampa on November 7.
Announcing the dates on Instagram, Slade wrote: “See you out there.”
Sheeran is also due to perform in Hollywood, Florida, on October 29 and 30. Those concerts were not scheduled to have opening acts because they are casino shows.
Brooks Rosser to open in Indianapolis
Rosser, who appeared as a contestant on the 24th season of American Idol earlier this year, will also perform in Indianapolis.
He said on Instagram: “my first show since American Idol, and it’s at Lucas Oil Stadium opening for @teddysphotos. I’m beyond excited and grateful. See you Saturday!”
Sheeran had been due to perform in Boston last month, but those shows were cancelled for an unrelated reason.
