A former Harper ISD teacher has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to 17 felony charges linked to recordings of girls in a bathroom and school dressing room in Gillespie County, Texas.
Pedro DeLuna III admitted the offences in court on 3 September. The sentences were ordered to run concurrently, with the 15-year term imposed for possessing more than 50 images of child sexual abuse material.
The case involved 10 victims and more than 50 photographs and videos, according to the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office.
Former Harper ISD teacher sentenced over recordings
DeLuna pleaded guilty to 12 counts of invasive visual recording, three counts of possessing lewd visual material depicting a child, one count of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, and the possession charge relating to more than 50 images.
He received the maximum sentence on the 16 other counts, including two years for each state jail felony and 10 years for the tampering offence, with the terms running at the same time.
The investigation began after sheriff’s investigators were contacted on 8 November 2025 by a 15-year-old girl who said she had been recorded without her knowledge or consent in a bathroom at DeLuna’s home in the Harper area.
DeLuna was arrested on 1 December 2025 on a charge of invasive visual recording. A search of cloud storage obtained under warrant then uncovered further recordings of girls, investigators said.
Authorities later alleged that nine additional victims had been recorded in a dressing room at Harper High School. DeLuna was arrested again on 5 December on six further charges.
Investigators also accused him of trying to delete and conceal evidence in an effort to avoid prosecution. The deleted material was recovered, allowing officers to identify further evidence, according to the sheriff’s office.
DeLuna had been in his second year at Harper ISD, where he worked as assistant band director, theatre teacher and elementary music teacher. The district placed him on administrative leave after learning of the allegations, and said he voluntarily resigned on 10 November 2025.
