Major delays hit Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) services in Oakland on Saturday afternoon after a fire near the Coliseum station and a PG&E power outage disrupted trains.
BART initially warned shortly after 5.20pm that the fire was affecting services on the Berryessa Line in the directions of Dublin/Pleasanton, Berryessa, Richmond and Daly City.
An updated advisory issued after 6pm said the power outage had brought services to a complete halt between Fruitvale and Bay Fair. BART did not confirm whether the fire and the outage were connected.
Passengers travelling between San Leandro and 12th Street were advised to use AC Transit buses. Travellers going from Dublin/Pleasanton to Bay Fair were told to take bus 28.
Those travelling between San Leandro and Hayward were advised to use AC Transit routes 9, 28, 34 or 35 while the disruption continued.
The incident was being treated as a developing situation, with no immediate indication of when normal BART services would resume.
