A former Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center employee has been sentenced to four years in a Texas state jail facility after pleading guilty to seven felony counts linked to hidden bathroom cameras.
Robert Shrader, 41, entered his pleas on 16 September 2026 in Montgomery County. He waived his right to appeal, making the convictions and sentence final, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
The court ordered two maximum two-year state jail sentences to run consecutively. The sentence must be served day-for-day.

The case began after hidden recording devices were discovered in two unisex bathrooms at the hospital in August 2025. Investigators said the cameras had been concealed in ceiling tiles beside exhaust fans, with one bathroom near the labour and delivery unit and another inside the medical-surgical unit.
Court documents stated that Shrader was captured on video installing one of the cameras. More than 170 images were found on a memory card inside one device, while a second card containing 131 images was recovered from his office.
Investigators identified Shrader as a former director of patient care at the hospital. Memorial Hermann terminated him after the allegations emerged and said it carried out security sweeps across its Woodlands campus while co-operating with law enforcement.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office said the outcome was reached after consultation with the identified victims, who supported the resolution. Prosecutors said it secured seven felony convictions without requiring the victims to face the further intrusion of a public trial.
Chief prosecutor Adam McLane said Shrader had abused a position of trust and that he would serve four years for his conduct. District Attorney Mike Holley described the sentence as a just outcome and said Shrader was being held accountable.
Authorities have continued to protect information that could identify the victims and urged the public and media to respect their privacy.
