The US military says it killed four people in a strike on a vessel in the Caribbean that it alleges was involved in drug trafficking.
US Southern Command said on Saturday that “confirmed intelligence revealed the vessel’s active involvement in narco-trafficking”. It did not provide further details about the vessel or those killed.
The attack is the latest in a campaign that began last year against what the Trump administration describes as “narco-terrorists”.
It came 10 days after another strike in the Caribbean in which three people were killed, according to the US military.
More than 220 people have been killed in US strikes on vessels in the Caribbean and the eastern Pacific since the campaign began.
Rights groups have described the attacks as “extrajudicial killings”.
