The Indian Community School in Franklin, Wisconsin, will remain closed until Monday, September 21, after a man allegedly pointed a handgun at an employee during a dispute over landscaping work.
Franklin police said officers were called shortly before 4pm on Wednesday, September 16, following a disagreement over work being carried out along a property boundary.
A 62-year-old Franklin man is accused of aiming the weapon at a 51-year-old school employee. He was arrested near the school on suspicion of recklessly endangering safety and taken to Milwaukee County Jail.
No one was injured, and police said the incident remained under investigation.
The Indian Community School said all on-campus activities scheduled between Thursday and Sunday had been cancelled. Off-campus events were expected to continue as planned.
School administrators said the closure would give investigators time to complete their work and allow the school to strengthen security measures. They said they were working with Franklin police and believed closing the school was the safest decision for pupils, staff, families and the wider community.
The school is located on West St Martins Road in Franklin and is due to reopen on Monday, September 21.
