Hilary Swank is expecting her third child at the age of 52, announcing the pregnancy in a playful family video featuring her husband, Philip Schneider, and their three-year-old twins.
The Million Dollar Baby actress shared footage of the family dancing in the dark with glow sticks attached to their bodies, creating illuminated silhouettes.
Swank then revealed her growing bump, with a glow-stick baby appearing on her stomach. The couple’s third child is due in December.
“A lot of people have been asking what project I’m doing next, this one releases in December,” Swank wrote in the caption.
Hilary Swank reflects on becoming a mother later in life
The announcement comes more than three years after Swank and Schneider welcomed their twins, Aya and Ohm, in April 2023.
Swank had teased the news the previous week by sharing a photograph of herself with a baby bump as part of a partnership with US organic nappy brand HealthyBaby. The image was taken during her pregnancy with the twins.
She has previously spoken about the experience of becoming a mother later in life, saying her younger years had been focused on her career.
“I was 47 when I got pregnant, and I feel like I have a lot more patience, and I’ve done a lot of my own personal work to be the type of mother I want to be, whereas it would’ve just been different in my 20s and 30s,” she told People in 2024.
“I don’t think I would’ve had the patience and the grace that I hopefully can bestow a little bit more (of) now, and a self-awareness in a different way that I don’t need to focus on myself anymore in the way that I did at that point.”
Swank and Schneider met on a blind date in 2014 and married in 2018.
