John Leguizamo has praised Matt Damon ahead of their latest collaboration, saying he is excited to work with the actor again on the next film from directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, known as the Daniels.
The pair recently worked together on Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, and are also set to reunite for the Daniels’ upcoming project. Leguizamo said the experience of working with Damon had been a major reason for his enthusiasm.
“We’re doing the Daniels, because working with Matt is a joy and a half. He’s the coolest, funniest, realest dude that I ever hung out with. So yeah, I’ll do a third if he’s up for it, if he can tolerate me,” he said.
Leguizamo and Damon previously shared the screen in the animated science-fiction film Titan A.E., released in 2000.
Although Leguizamo did not disclose many details about the new Daniels film, he said the production was “having an amazing time” and that the cast was “unbelievable”.
He also praised the younger performers involved, saying: “A whole bunch of new kids who are so talented and inspire me. I mean, the young actors coming up, oh my God, they give me so much hope and so much joy.”
The cast includes Sandra Oh, Sean Kaufman, Michael Gandolfini and Charles Melton.
