Journey drummer Deen Castronovo was rushed to hospital after falling ill during the band’s concert at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The medical emergency occurred two songs into the group’s set on Thursday night, during their 2026 “Final Frontier” tour, bringing the performance to a halt.
Keyboardist Jonathan Cain later told the audience it was an “unfortunate situation” and apologised for the disruption. He also asked fans to keep Castronovo in their prayers.
Guitarist Neal Schon subsequently returned to the stage and confirmed that the drummer had been taken to hospital. He said Castronovo would be replaced for the remainder of the show by his drum technician, Steve Toomey.
Singer Arnel Pineda also asked the crowd to pray for Castronovo before Journey resumed the concert.
Schon later reassured fans during the performance, saying the drummer was going to be “fine”.
The band completed the rest of the show without further reported problems.
