Juventus are considering a move for Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker as part of their plans for a major squad rebuild, with the Brazil international potentially available as a free agent in 2027.
Alisson’s current contract at Anfield is due to expire in June 2027. Unless Liverpool agree a new deal, the Italian club could pursue one of Europe’s most experienced goalkeepers without paying a transfer fee.
Juventus assess Alisson Becker among 2027 targets
Tuttosport reports that Juventus officials Giovanni Carnevali, Ricky Massara and Marco Ottolini are examining possible recruits for next year, with Alisson among the names being considered.
Massara and Luciano Spalletti are understood to know the goalkeeper from their time at Roma, while Juventus have previously explored the possibility of bringing him back to Serie A.
Any approach would have to take account of Alisson’s wages. The report suggests his salary would probably need to be reduced for a move to become realistic.
Alisson will be 34 by the end of this season, making him a different proposition from the younger goalkeepers Juventus are also assessing. His experience and established quality, however, remain central to his appeal.
Liverpool leadership role complicates Juventus interest
Liverpool’s plans will be crucial to the situation. Alisson remains an important member of the squad’s leadership group and was named one of the club’s vice-captains for the 2026/27 season, a role Liverpool confirmed in August.
That status indicates the value Liverpool place on his influence as well as his performances, meaning Juventus cannot simply rely on his contract running down.
The club’s succession planning could nevertheless become a factor. Liverpool have Giorgi Mamardashvili and have continued to invest in younger goalkeepers, although Juventus’ interest in Alisson is currently understood to be exploratory rather than advanced.
For Juventus, a free transfer would release funds for other areas of an expected rebuild. Unless Liverpool extend Alisson’s contract beyond 2027, speculation about a return to Italy is likely to continue.
