Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom could be drawn back into a legal dispute over their former Santa Barbara home after businessman Carl Westcott asked to subpoena the former couple over money he says remains unpaid.
Westcott previously sued Perry’s business manager, Bernie Gudvi, seeking to overturn the sale of the property, which was valued at $15 million. He lost the case and was ordered to hand over the keys to Perry, while she was ordered to pay the outstanding balance on the purchase.
That balance was put at about $4 million. In new court documents, Westcott claims Perry transferred $900,000 to him in June but did not pay the rest.
He is seeking permission to question both Perry and Bloom about the money. If granted, the subpoenas would allow him to seek information from the pair about the sum he alleges is still owed.
Gudvi has opposed the request, arguing that there is no emergency. He maintains that the outstanding money cannot be paid to Westcott until an appeal concerning a separate $3 million he allegedly owes Gudvi has been resolved.
Gudvi also accused Westcott of attempting to harass Perry and Bloom through the subpoena request. A judge has yet to rule on the application.
Perry and Bloom began dating in 2016 and split in 2025. They share a six-year-old daughter, Daisy.
