Ana Montana has been arrested in North Carolina on felony drug charges, with authorities alleging she obtained alprazolam using prescriptions issued with a doctor’s stolen credentials.
Montana, whose real name is Analicia Chaves, was arrested on Monday in Mecklenburg County, according to booking records.
She faces two felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery, as well as two misdemeanour counts of simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. She was held on a $20,000 bond in connection with the felony allegations.
An arrest warrant alleges that Montana obtained alprazolam, the generic form of Xanax, from Walgreens after filling prescriptions written using a doctor’s allegedly stolen DEA registration and medical provider identification number.
The alleged conduct is said to date back to February 21. The warrant was issued on September 22, six days before her arrest.
Montana’s lawyer said the allegations concern a doctor who used a fraudulent DEA registration and NPI number to prescribe alprazolam for Ms Chaves, and that she used the prescription to obtain the medication from a pharmacy.
“The drug possession charges appear to allege that she possessed the aforementioned Alprazolam upon obtaining it from the pharmacy via the prescription written by the doctor,” the lawyer added.
Montana shares a son, LaOne, with NBA player LaMelo Ball. The couple welcomed their child in January 2026 and publicly announced his birth in May.
