A photo of Lindsay Clancy holdout juror Michael Péguy Desronvil holding his daughter as a baby has been shared by his legal team.
His lawyer, Edward Andrew Paltzik, posted the image on Saturday and described Desronvil as an “American hero champion of justice”.
Desronvil previously discussed the jury deliberations, saying he “didn’t have any doubts” about Clancy’s case. He said attempts to present different theories were repeatedly interrupted.
“As I tried to explain different possible theories during deliberation, I kept getting cut off as if I had doubts based on the evidence presented,” he said.
The image comes after other jurors spoke publicly about Desronvil’s refusal to reach a not guilty verdict. Juror Paula Devlin said he had acknowledged having reasonable doubt, while fellow juror Nick Dargie said Desronvil could not identify evidence supporting his belief that Clancy was guilty.
The jury’s failure to reach a verdict resulted in a mistrial. It remains unclear whether Massachusetts will seek to try Clancy again over the deaths of her three children, Cora, Dawson and Callan.
