Lionel Richie has been admitted to hospital in St Louis after falling ill following a performance at The Muny on Saturday night.
The 77-year-old singer checked himself into the facility after appearing at the outdoor theatre in Forest Park, where he was reportedly taken to the intensive care unit for medical tests.
Richie was still in hospital on Monday afternoon, according to TMZ, but was expected to be discharged on Tuesday.
Sources said the admission was precautionary and that doctors were investigating whether he had become dehydrated. No further details about his condition have been released.
The concert had been billed by The Muny as a one-night-only summer finale at its St Louis venue, with Richie performing songs from his decades-long career.
The health scare comes after the singer previously experienced dizziness during a concert in Minnesota in June, when he was taken to hospital as a precaution and later described as being “a little dehydrated” by his manager.
