Caleb Flynn’s murder trial has entered its sixth day, with proceedings being streamed live as prosecutors accuse the former “American Idol” contestant of killing his wife, Ashley Flynn.
The case has included testimony from Alleigha Botner, described as Flynn’s mistress, who read messages exchanged between the pair to the court.
In one exchange, Botner wrote that she wanted to kill Ashley Flynn. Caleb Flynn replied: “That makes two of us.”
The prosecution also presented a message Flynn allegedly sent to Botner on the night before Ashley’s death: “Actions will come tomorrow, February 16, a day I’ll never forget.”
Two songs written by Flynn for Botner were also played in court. Flynn wrote the lyrics, while artificial intelligence generated the music and vocals; members of the gallery reportedly struggled with some of the lyrics.
Flynn is accused of shooting his wife twice in the back of the head before staging the scene to resemble a burglary. His lawyers deny that prosecutors have concrete evidence linking him to the killing.
