Liverpool have reportedly contacted Estevao Willian’s representatives as they seek to test the Chelsea winger’s commitment to Stamford Bridge.
The 19-year-old has struggled for regular playing time under Xabi Alonso this season, despite making a strong impression during his first campaign in England. Chelsea are understood to be working on improved terms for the Brazil international, but Liverpool are attempting to intervene before any new agreement is reached.

Reports indicate that Liverpool have moved beyond monitoring Estevao’s situation and have opened communication with his representatives. The club have also sent scouts to watch the attacker as Andoni Iraola considers potential additions to his forward line.
Estevao is contracted to Chelsea until 2033, leaving the London club under no immediate pressure to sell. Any revised deal would be intended to reflect his development and reinforce his importance to the club’s long-term plans.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Chelsea have no intention of selling the winger and remain relaxed about his position, despite his reduced role at the beginning of the season.
Estevao scored eight goals and provided four assists in 36 appearances during his first Chelsea campaign. However, opportunities have become more limited following tactical changes under Alonso, with reports suggesting he has started just once in the club’s opening five competitive matches this season.
Chelsea’s stance is reflected in their reported valuation of between €110 million and €120 million, equivalent to roughly £95 million to £104 million.
Reds face major challenge to signing
Estevao’s profile is understood to appeal to Liverpool, with the left-footed attacker capable of operating from the right and posing a threat when running at defenders. Specialist options in that position are also considered limited within the current squad.
However, Liverpool face significant obstacles in trying to prise him away from Chelsea. The club do not need to sell, the player has almost seven years left on his contract and he is viewed as part of their future.
A transfer would therefore require either Estevao to become increasingly frustrated by his lack of minutes or Chelsea to alter their current position. Liverpool’s approach ensures the player is aware of an alternative should his situation in west London fail to improve.
