Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Hull City goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, who could command a fee of about £40 million.
The 23-year-old Greek has impressed during his time in the Premier League and is now attracting interest from a number of major clubs. Tottenham have also been linked with the goalkeeper, with TEAMtalk previously reporting that Spurs were keen.
A separate report from Fichajes claims Liverpool are monitoring Tzolakis as they assess their long-term options between the posts.
The potential interest comes with Alisson Becker approaching the later stages of his career. Liverpool must eventually plan for the Brazilian’s replacement, although it remains unclear whether Giorgio Mamardashvili has done enough to establish himself as the preferred successor.
Mamardashvili impressed at former club Valencia and appeared to offer a possible solution for Liverpool’s future, but the report suggests he has not yet looked fully convincing when given opportunities for the Merseyside club.
Tzolakis has already demonstrated that he can cope with Premier League football, making him an alternative Liverpool may consider. Hull are unlikely to welcome the prospect of losing an important player, but his performances could bring increased attention from leading clubs.
Liverpool have seen several established names depart in recent transfer windows, including Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, Luis Diaz and Trent Alexander-Arnold. If interest in Tzolakis develops, they may face competition from Tottenham and other clubs for his signature.
