An out-of-control party involving more than 200 people in Capalaba, south-east of Brisbane, has been brought under control after police officers were met with bottles and called in a helicopter for assistance.
Police were alerted to a large disturbance at a residence near Ney Road and Wildflower Street at about 10.15pm on Saturday. Officers requested help from Polair after arriving to find people throwing glass bottles at them.
Police eventually entered the property, while several people fled the area. A 16-year-old girl who had collapsed was taken to Redland Hospital by paramedics.
A 43-year-old man from Birkdale was also found unresponsive nearby and is believed to have suffered a medical episode. Paramedics performed CPR before taking him to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
Two other people were assessed by paramedics and left in the care of a relative. A third person was assessed in a stable condition but declined transport to hospital.
A 17-year-old boy from Thornlands was arrested and charged with assaulting police and other street offences. He is due to appear at Cleveland Children’s Court on October 16.
Police have appealed for information about the incident, including CCTV, home security footage and dashcam recordings from the surrounding area.
