A man has been taken into custody after a domestic-related shooting in Safety Harbor, Florida, in which a woman was wounded and a young child was taken from the scene.
Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office were called to Harbor Bar on Main Street on Tuesday evening following reports of gunfire.
The woman was taken to hospital. Her condition and identity have not been released.
Safety Harbor shooting remains under investigation
Investigators said the man left the area in a vehicle with his young child shortly after the shooting, but was detained a short time later. The child was found safe.
The man’s identity has not been disclosed and no information about possible charges has been released.
The sheriff’s office has described the incident as isolated. Detectives have not said what led to the shooting and the investigation remains active.
