Manchester United and Arsenal are monitoring Newcastle United winger Bazoumana Touré, who has attracted renewed interest just months after joining the club from Hoffenheim.
The 20-year-old moved to St James’ Park for around £43 million in July and is still adapting to Premier League football. His pace and ability to beat defenders one-on-one have nevertheless kept him on the radar of several leading clubs.
Sources close to the agents industry claim United and Arsenal had tracked Touré before Newcastle secured his signature, with that interest continuing after his first appearances for the club.
Man United and Arsenal monitoring Bazoumana Touré
Touré has opened his Premier League account against Leeds United and also scored against West Bromwich Albion in the EFL Cup. Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are also believed to be monitoring his progress, although neither club has made a formal approach.
United are continuing to look for young attacking players with pace and potential, while Arsenal are interested in adding quality and depth to their wide options. Touré is understood to fit the profile sought by both clubs.
Former Newcastle manager Eddie Howe described him as “a hugely exciting young talent” with “a really high ceiling” when the signing was announced.
Newcastle are in a strong negotiating position, with Touré contracted until 2031 and regarded as an important part of the club’s long-term plans. Having only paid around €50 million for him three months ago, they have little incentive to consider a January sale.
For now, the interest from Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa appears to amount to long-term scouting rather than an imminent transfer contest. However, Touré’s continued development could lead to significantly greater offers in the future.
