A man has died after a car left the road and struck a tree in a fatal single-vehicle crash in Ellicott City, Maryland.
The collision happened at about 9.48pm on Friday, 18 September, on Ilchester Road between Jeans Way and Bonnie Branch Road, Howard County police said.
Investigators said the northbound vehicle, a 2013 Nissan Juke, veered off the road for reasons that remain unknown before hitting the tree. The driver was the sole occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ilchester Road was closed near the crash site for around two and a half hours while officers examined the scene.
The Howard County Police Department’s investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing.
