A friend of Beau Lamarre-Condon told a jury the former police officer asked her what she would do if he had killed someone after his first break-up with television presenter Jesse Baird.
Georgia Cook said Mr Lamarre-Condon then asked whether she would help him hide a body, before allegedly laughing and claiming he had done “something crazy” instead.
Mr Lamarre-Condon is on trial in the NSW Supreme Court over the alleged murders of Mr Baird and his new partner, Luke Davies, at Mr Baird’s home in Paddington, Sydney, in February 2024. He is arguing self-defence.
Ms Cook told the jury: “One of the first things he said was, ‘What would you do if I told you I killed somebody?’ and I just froze, and he said ‘Would you help me hide the body?’”
She said that after she refused, he allegedly told her he had been watching Mr Baird from outside his home, including while he had sex with other men.
According to Ms Cook, Mr Lamarre-Condon wore a black hoodie and used his mother’s car so Mr Baird would not recognise him. She said he told her he had watched Mr Baird use a Polaroid camera he had bought him to take photographs with friends.
Ms Cook said Mr Lamarre-Condon told her he had observed the property over the back fence and watched where Mr Baird left his key.
“Once Jesse and the friends had left … he went and got the key and unlocked the door, broke into the house,” she told the jury.
She said he allegedly took the camera and ate Mr Baird’s Easter egg, adding that he had mentioned doing something else but did not say what it was.
Mr Baird and Mr Lamarre-Condon dated briefly from late 2022 until April 2023, and again between September and November that year. Mr Baird met Mr Davies on New Year’s Eve 2023.
Mr Lamarre-Condon is also accused of disguising himself as an Uber Eats rider before the alleged killings. Ms Cook’s evidence is due to continue on Monday.
