Two men were restrained after a physical altercation broke out on a flight from Melbourne to Doha, with both passengers handed over to local authorities on arrival.
Qatar Airways said the incident occurred on flight VA7 on Friday. The airline confirmed that the men had been restrained during the journey.
Media reports alleged that the passengers made violent threats towards fellow travellers and crew, including a claim that one of them had a gun.
A passenger told Nine newspapers that the men had repeatedly left and returned to their seats before arguing and fighting. She said: “The men would not comply with instructions from the crew, and ultimately had to be restrained.”
In a statement, Qatar Airways said: “The safety and wellbeing of our crew and passengers remain our highest priority.”
