US Representatives Rich McCormick and Beth Van Duyne have ended their relationship, bringing their time as a congressional couple to a close.
The Georgia congressman and Texas congresswoman are understood to have split at an unclear date. People with knowledge of the matter said there was no bad feeling between them.
McCormick said: “I have a great relationship with her and will continue to strive to be the best friend I can be.”
Van Duyne has not responded to a request for comment.
The pair were asked in late July whether maintaining a relationship in Washington DC was “tricky” as they walked together after a series of votes. McCormick replied: “Relationships are tricky to begin with, right? But DC makes it easy.”
Van Duyne confirmed in May 2024 that she and McCormick were “happily” in a relationship.
No reason has been given for the split.
