Seven people were injured after a Sarasota County Breeze bus collided with another vehicle and struck a State College of Florida monument sign in North Port, Florida, on Monday, September 21.
The crash happened near the 8000 block of South Tamiami Trail, at the junction with West Villages Parkway, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
Following the collision, the bus left the roadway and came to rest with its front wheels on the pedestal of the college sign.

Three of those injured were taken to Wellen Park Emergency for treatment, while another person was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Venice.
One person declined medical treatment. Two others were assessed at the scene and released, the sheriff’s office said.
The road remained open and there were no reported blockages in the area.
Authorities have not released details about what caused the initial collision or provided an update on the condition of those taken to hospital.
