Wrexham have made a bid for Sheffield United attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare, with the Blades now considering whether to part with one of their key players before the transfer window closes on Tuesday, September 1.
The offer is understood to be worth around £6.5 million, according to reports, as Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson seeks further attacking reinforcements for his Championship squad.
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder confirmed that a bid had been received but made clear that he would prefer O’Hare to remain at Bramall Lane.
“There’s been a bid put in by Wrexham,” Wilder said. “He’s a good player so I’m not surprised there’s been interest. Personally, I wouldn’t want him to go, but understand that there’s a bid in and it’ll be dealt with by the certain people who deal with these things.”
O’Hare joined Sheffield United from Coventry City in 2024 and has since made 97 appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals. His importance has increased following Gus Hamer’s move to Coventry, with O’Hare operating in his preferred central attacking role.
The 28-year-old is under contract at Sheffield United until 2028 and has already scored this season, finding the net in the Blades’ 2-2 draw with Cardiff City.
Wrexham are understood to be pursuing several attacking midfield options as they attempt to strengthen before the deadline, but O’Hare has emerged as a prominent target. The Welsh club began the new Championship campaign without a win in their opening three matches.
