Stefon Diggs’ male accuser has asked for their lawsuit to be moved away from the Washington Commanders’ home stadium, arguing that local NFL supporters could be biased in favour of the team’s new player.
Christopher Griffith made the request in court documents concerning his legal battle with Diggs in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He claims jurors drawn from the area could include Commanders season-ticket holders, stadium employees and fans with a personal or financial interest in the player remaining in good standing.
Diggs joined the Commanders in August and scored a touchdown during the team’s Week One defeat by the Philadelphia Eagles. Griffith’s motion argues that the player’s connection to the club could influence how jurors assess competing claims in the case.

Griffith has accused Diggs of drugging him and sexually battering him. He says jurors may be inclined to give a hometown sports figure the benefit of the doubt, particularly if the allegations could damage a season in which local fans have invested.
The judge has not yet ruled on the request to move the proceedings.
Diggs previously sued Griffith for defamation, alleging that he fabricated claims that he had been sexually assaulted at Diggs’ Maryland home in 2023.
Griffith countersued, alleging that Diggs drugged him, masturbated in front of him and arranged for others to assault him in an effort to silence him over the alleged advances. The allegations have not been proven in court.
