He might be playing the most laid-back Beatle, Ringo Starr, but Irishman Barry Keoghan’s latest on-set tantrum has left the crew praying he’ll learn to Let It Be sooner rather than later so they can all go home on time.
My spies on the ground tell me the Saltburn actor, 33, threw his toys (and earrings) out of the pram earlier this month while filming the much-anticipated Beatles biopic, which consists of four films set to be released in 2028.
‘He tore out his Ringo earrings, threw them into a bush and stormed off down the drive,’ my source tells me of the scene which was being filmed at Stonewall Park in Kent.
‘Staff spent a long time fishing through the bushes trying to find them. That meant filming had to be suspended for a day.’
This follows Keoghan’s retreat from public life which, prompted by a barrage of online hate, left him, he says, ‘hiding away’.
The trolling was mostly directed at his appearance and at rumours that he cheated on pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter after they dated from 2023 to 2024. Keoghan blasted the claims as ‘completely untrue’.
In April he said on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast: ‘I came off Instagram and social profiles. I stopped going to events. I stopped socialising.’
The Beatles biopic has been plagued by controversy, with fans saying the actors look too unlike the Fab Four.

Lily’s pot shot at cocaine
Lily Allen took a break from singing about her ex-husband, US actor David Harbour, last week to parade round Boardmasters festival in Cornwall with an anti-drugs cartoon on her top.
‘Cocaine is not all it’s cracked up to be,’ it said while words next to the cartoon added: ‘See dick chop. See dick snort. See dick die.’
Good to see mother of two girls Allen, 41, once an addict, continues to do her bit as a good role model for the youth of today.

Emma’s hot sidestep at Ibiza salsa bar
After visiting her new pal George Clooney at his palatial Lake Como home, Emma Watson appears to have swapped Italian lakeside glamour for the salsa bars of Ibiza.
My spies spotted the Harry Potter star, 36, being twirled around the dance floor by a handsome – and rather mysterious – man at the Cubanito Ibiza hotel.
The pair appeared to be having a jolly time, laughing as another man approached Ms Watson, seemingly with an eye to a dance.
But if he was hoping to cut in, he was left disappointed: she just frowned and carried on dancing with her partner.

Celia’s hang up
She has an Olivier Award and a CBE, but Celia Imrie will soon have a more exclusive honour: being immortalised on the walls of Claridge’s.
The Bridget Jones star, 74, is to have her portrait hung at the Mayfair hotel’s Talking Heads Gallery.
Celia’s portrait, drawn by Claridge’s artist-in-residence David Downton this week, will be beside the hotel’s other famous guests such as Dame Joan Collins, Dame Kristin Scott Thomas and Dita Von Teese.

DJ Fearne Cotton’s holiday packing was all fur coat and no knickers last week – as she remembered everything except her undergarments.
Fearne, 44, revealed on Instagram: ‘I went to the local market and this was the only pair I could find.’ The pair, above, had a cat over the crotch – risque!
Luckily, singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor was there to console: ‘I have done the exact same thing. Brought everything but… not my pants.’

Billionaire make-up mogul Charlotte Tilbury has ruffled feathers among her Gen Z customers after her brand has refused to adopt the new CFI (Cruelty Free International) logo.
Although the company maintains that Tilbury still upholds ‘no animal testing standards’, social media users say the lack of CFI certification is ‘misleading’ and ‘confusing’ and have led a charge to boycott the products.
‘We need to boycott the brand,’ fumed one animal rights protester.
‘We are the consumer. Let’s fight the fight.’
