Taylor Swift’s new song “Cleveland!” appears to reference her husband Travis Kelce, his Ohio hometown and the criticism frequently directed at the singer.
The track is included on the deluxe edition of her album The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, which features four additional songs and is now streaming.
Kelce grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and recently bought a $5.35 million lakefront mansion in a village just outside the city. The song has therefore prompted speculation that Swift is addressing his roots and their life together in the area.

The song opens with a series of disparaging comments about Swift’s appearance, clothes, dancing and personality, before shifting to a defiant refrain about Kelce accepting her as she is.
In the chorus, Swift sings that her partner has already taken her to Cleveland and shown her “The Heights”, while declaring that he is “the love of my life”.
Swift has joined Kelce at Cleveland sporting events in recent years. She attended a Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game with him on 23 May 2026 and was also seen at a Cleveland Guardians baseball game in New York City on 14 October 2024.
