A historic building quiz is asking readers to identify a grand Melbourne mansion built in 1890 as a 27-room home for a wealthy brewer.
The property was bought about two decades later by EW Cole, known for Coles’ Book Arcade, before being sold to the Anglican Church. It was subsequently converted into a schoolhouse and is now ranked among Melbourne’s top schools.
The building’s name and location will be revealed in next week’s quiz. Last week’s answer was the Plant Craft Cottage in the Royal Botanic Gardens.
