A man was seriously injured after entering a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster, South Yorkshire Police said.
The incident happened at about 1.35pm on Saturday. The force said the tigers remained inside the enclosure and there was no danger to members of the wider public.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, an air ambulance and a doctor to the wildlife park. Authorities have not released further details about the man’s injuries.
In a statement, Yorkshire Wildlife Park said: “We are working closely with the authorities to ascertain exactly what happened.”
The park opened in 2009, while its Land of the Tigers attraction began operating in 2011. The two-acre reserve was built for endangered Amur tigers, also known as Siberian tigers.
The enclosure includes a 300-metre raised walkway from which visitors can watch the tigers in woodland and grassland areas, as well as in a waterfall pool.
