Two people have been arrested after a couple were allegedly tied up, beaten with a metal bar and robbed at a motel in Kissimmee, Florida, authorities said.
Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the Siesta Motor Inn on West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway on Thursday, September 17, after the reported attack the previous night.
Investigators said the victims were held inside their room during a dispute over money involving another couple. The pair were allegedly assaulted before their mobile phones, cash and jewellery were taken.
Detectives later found the suspected attackers at the same motel and arrested them. They were identified as 38-year-old Glorimar Ramos-Pagon and 37-year-old Salvi Sola-Torres.
Both were booked into Osceola County Jail on charges of battery and false imprisonment or kidnapping, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sola-Torres is also facing an additional charge linked to an alleged violation. Local reports said it relates to a probation violation involving possession of fentanyl.
The allegations have not been tested in court. The investigation remains under way.
