A witness has claimed to have filmed an unidentified craft hovering above Tehran, describing the object as “wasn’t human-made”.
Ali Sedaghati shared a video on X of the alleged sighting, which they said took place on Sunday, September 20. The craft appeared to have a single wing and a pointed rear section as it remained above the Azadegan Highway.
Sedaghati said the object was close to the clouds and had distinctive lights, but made no sound.
“I really don’t know what it is, but it was near the clouds, had special lights, and was hovering in the space without any sound!” they wrote. “It wasn’t human-made. It was a UFO, I’m sure.”
Iran is currently engaged in a conflict with the United States. Asked whether the sighting could be connected to American military operations, a Pentagon spokesperson said there was “nothing to provide” in response.

The reported incident comes 50 years after a well-known sighting over Tehran. On September 19, 1976, military jets were scrambled after a large diamond-shaped object was seen in the sky over the city during the early hours.
One of the pilots later said the object was the size of a Boeing 747, while moving too quickly to be an airliner.
The latest claim comes amid renewed discussion about unidentified anomalous phenomena, including theories that glowing orbs reported in the sky could be linked to advanced forms of transport.
Professor Avi Loeb, a Harvard astrophysicist who sits on the UAP Science Advisory Council, has suggested that such lights could be produced by a transportation system used by extraterrestrial beings. He said they might be flashes from a light sail or the result of a “warp drive” creating a bubble of distorted space-time.
