A 51-year-old man from Venice has died after a Sarasota motorcycle crash involving two motorbikes and a car, police said.
The collision happened at about 2.30pm on Sunday near the junction of Gulfstream Avenue and Bayfront Drive, according to the Sarasota Police Department.
Investigators said the man was riding south from a traffic circle on to Bayfront Drive when he tried to overtake a car. His motorcycle struck the vehicle before hitting a roadside pole.

The impact sent the motorcycle back into the road, where it was hit by a second motorcyclist. That rider was not injured, police said.
The driver of the car and the second motorcyclist both remained at the scene and co-operated with officers. Neither is facing charges.
The 51-year-old was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where he later died. Traffic was diverted in the area for several hours, but the road has since reopened.
