A Missouri woman has been indicted on three federal counts after allegedly sending death threats to Jeff Metcalf, the father of murdered Texas schoolboy Austin Metcalf.
Sharifa Nicole Henderson is accused of sending multiple threatening messages to Mr Metcalf in June. The charges relate to sending threats to injure, federal authorities said.
One alleged message said: “I will hunt you forever until I kill you … I will be there. You will always have to look over your [expletive] shoulder.”
In another message, Henderson allegedly threatened to put someone “in a body bag” and said she would “strangle” someone. Authorities identified Mr Metcalf as the recipient, according to the indictment.
Henderson has already made her first court appearance. She could face up to five years in prison if convicted.
Austin Metcalf was killed at a Texas high school track meet in 2025. Karmelo Anthony was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 35 years in prison in June, although his legal team is appealing the verdict and sentence.
The case and its trial were described as divisive and led to allegations of racism.
Mr Metcalf has previously spoken about death threats he said he and his family had received. “I guess these people have no life, and I get to live rent-free in their head,” he said.
