Brentford have opened talks with Kevin Schade over a new long-term contract as Arsenal and Liverpool monitor the Germany winger’s impressive start to the season.
Schade has scored three goals in Brentford’s opening five Premier League matches, helping Thomas Frank’s side remain unbeaten and climb to fourth. Their victories have included home wins over Tottenham and Chelsea, while the other three fixtures ended in draws.
The 23-year-old has attracted interest from a number of leading Premier League clubs. Chelsea and Tottenham have followed his progress, but Arsenal and Liverpool were understood to be the most keen as the summer transfer window approached its conclusion.
Brentford are keen to improve Schade’s terms with the player entering the final two years of the contract he signed after joining from SC Freiburg for £20 million in June 2023.
His latest goals have taken his Brentford tally to 25 in 119 appearances, alongside nine assists. Schade has also established himself in the Germany squad, having featured at the World Cup and started Jurgen Klopp’s first match in charge against the Netherlands.
